My quote for this week is ‘Clouds filled with stars cover your skies’ from the song ‘Sweet dreams’ by Beyonce
For my background I used a light blue liquitex paint. I used my art deco glitter paste through a dragonfly stencil over parts of the background and then stamped over the background with my butterfly and star stamp from my Art C stamp set, a zen butterfly stamp and a small wooden dragonfly stamp with black archival ink.
For my main page I drew four clouds on watercolor paper and cut them out. I then colored them using my aqua spectrum watercolor pens, choosing a different mixture of colors for every cloud. Once it had dried I used my graphix black pen to draw stars and outline the clouds. I then colored in the stars with my uni-ball signo glitter pens and stamped stars in the spaces with my Tim Holtz star stamp using archival ink. I also added dots with my American crafts metallic pen all over the remaining space. I then positioned them on the page and stuck them down. I then drew out 16 small stars on watercolor paper and colored them all with my aqua spectrum watercolor pens, choosing a different color for each. I then outlined them with my graphix black pen and stamped stars over them using my star stamp from my Art C stamp set and archival ink. I then paired them up and stuck them over each other to create 3D stars. I used five on my main page in the empty spaces and saved the other three for my quote page.
For my quote page I drew one big cloud and two small ones like I did with my main page. I stuck them on the page and positioned the remaining three stars around the big cloud. I then colored a piece of watercolor paper with my aqua spectrum watercolor pens in pink and stamped on the quote with my dovecraft letter stamps using black archival ink and then cut them out individually. I used the side of the archival ink to border the words and once I stuck them down went around the words again with my signo white gel pen.
As a finishing touch I cut out butterflies from scrapbook paper with my butterfly paper cutter and positioned them on both pages, adding dots to the wings and then used three blue butterfly embellishments over some of the clouds.
