Venture far beyond the shores

My quote for this week was ‘Venture far beyond these shores’ from the song ‘The nights’ by Avicii.

For my background I used yellow and blue liquitex paint to draw the sand and the water. I painted the bottom of my page a yellow color and the top a blue color. Once the paint had dried I used Art Deco glitter modelling paste through a dylusions star stamp on the blue part of the page. Once the modelling paste dried I used my ArtC star stamp with black archival ink on the top part of the page and a tim holtz star stamp in the empty spaces. For the sand I used my seashell stamp and starfish stamp from my Viva decor seaside stamp set using black archival ink again.

For my main page I drew a bucket, a sandcastle and a shovel. I drew them on watercolor paper and then colored them with aqua spectrum watercolor pens, blues for the bucket, yellows for the sandcastle and purples for the shovel. I used my heat gun to dry the watercolor as I put it on the page for the dried effect. Once they had all dried I used my starfish, shell and Tim Holtz star stamp over the images using the black archival ink pad to stamp them down and then positioned them all next to each other, also outlining the images with my graphix black pen.

For my quote page I drew a beach hut and a lighthouse on watercolor paper, I colored them with my aqua spectrum watercolor pens. Oranges and reds for the lighthouse and blues and yellows for the beach house. Once they had dried I outlined them with my graphix black pen and like with my other page used my starfish, shell and star stamp over the images with black archival ink. For my quote I used a manila tag and cut it down into a square shape, I cut an edge to the sides and sprayed it with pink and red dylusions sprays, I stamped down butterflies on the manila tag using my ArtC butterfly stamp using black archival ink to stamp the image down. I then cut out a piece of watercolor paper and sprayed it with red, yellow and pink imagine crafts fireworks sprays. I dabbed it dry with tissue paper and stamped down the quote with my dovecraft stamps using back archival ink. I then cut out the words separately and positioned them on the manila tag.

As a finishing touch I used a script stamp over the leftover paper sprayed with my fireworks sprays. I then cut out butterflies from the paper with my butterfly paper cutter and put them all over the top part of my pages. I also used a separate piece of watercolor paper, coloring it with  orange watercolor using my spectrum aqua watercolors and using my star paper cutter to cut out stars. I then glued them on the bottom to look like starfish on the beach and drew dots on the stars with my American crafts metallic pens, using silver, purple and blue colors.
