I’m the girl who loves the sea

My quote for this week was ‘I’m the girl who loves the sea’ from the film Disney film Moana

For my background I used different shades of blue liquitex acrylic paint. I applied the paint with my finger to get a nice texture. Once the paint had dried I mixed Pebeo studio modelling paste with blue liquitex acrylic paint and blue glitter, I then put the mixture through a Tim Holtz diamond stamp. Once all of that had dried I painted over it with blue glitter paint from the pound store to give it a layer of glitter. I then stamped down various images using my black archival ink pad, I used two fish stamps and an octopus stamp from my dylusions stamp set, I used a shell stamp from my viva decor stamp set and lastly I used flowers from my Molly and Rex stamp set.

For my main page I drew four Jellyfish onto watercolor paper. I then cut them out and colored them with my aqua spectrum watercolors, as I added water I dried it with my heating tool to give a dried effect. I used different shades of blues for the different jellyfish. Once all that had dried I stamped each jellyfish with a different stamp using black archival ink, I used a feather from a Molly and Rex stamp set, and then I used three stamps from my recollections stamp set. Once all that had dried I painted over them with my silver glitter paint from the pound store to give them a layer of glitter. I then drew circles on each of them using my black graphix pen on two and my signo silver metallic gel pen on the other two. I colored in the circles with my signo glitter gel pens and used my American crafts metallic pens to draw dots on each of the jellyfish and then lastly outlined each of the Jellyfish with my promarker.

For my quote page I drew two whales. I drew them onto my watercolor paper and then cut them out. Once they were cut out I colored them with my aqua spectrum watercolor pens, I used different blues, one dark and one light. As I added water to them I dried it with my heat gun to give a dried effect. I used two stamps from my recollections stamp set to stamp onto the whales, stamping them down with my black archival ink pad. I also painted  the whales with my silver glitter pound store paint. After that I drew swirls on them, I drew the swirls with my signo silver metallic pen on my darker whale and with my graphix black pen on my lighter one. I colored in the swirls with my signo glitter gel pens. I then covered all the rest of the space inbetween the swirls in black and white sequins and outlined both whales with my signo silver metallic pen. For the quote I cut out a piece of watercolor paper and cut the edges off it, I then colored it a light blue colored with my aqua spectrum watercolors, again adding water to the paper as I dried it with my heat gun. I then used a butterfly stamp from my Molly and Rex stamp set all over it once it had dried. I then colored another piece of paper in a dark blue color and a light blue color using my aqua spectrum watercolors again and heating it as I added water. I stamped down the lyrics on that piece of paper with my dovecraft stamps using black archival ink and then cut out the words separately. Once I had cut the words out I positioned them on the square piece of watercolor paper and outlined the words in my black graphix pen.

As a finishing touch I colored a piece of watercolor paper in different shades of blue with my aqua spectrum watercolors, drying the paper as I added the water. I then stamped a text stamp onto the paper from my Art-C stamp set using black archival ink. I then used my silver glitter paint again to give a layer of glitter and then I cut out stars with my star paper cutter and positioned them all over both pages, drawing dots on them with my American crafts metallic silver pen.
