This is the second page that I created in my art journal. I chose the lyrics “spark up a rhythm” from Jessie J’s song Domino.
For my background I painted it with a paint dabber from ranger in a purple and pink color, blending them together. I used modelling paste through a flower stencil and used white gesso through a star stencil and a diamond stencil from Dyan Reavely’s dylusions collection to create texture. I used a number stamp from Tim Holtz as part of the background with a music stamp too, using my archival ink pad. For my lyric page, I painted watercolor paper with my spectrum AQUA watercolor pens and layered them on top of each other to create a 3D effect, and stamped my words with archival ink and bordered the paper with the edge of my ink pad. I cut out pieces of watercolour paper and cut an edge off them, creating small little embellishments that I painted with watercolour paint and stamped the musical stamp with to go with the background, using my ink pad to color the sides in black too.
For my main picture page I drew fireworks on watercolor paper, sketching with a pencil and then finishing with a thin black pen from Graphik, I colored them with watercolor pens from spectrum AQUA and added white to the pictures with a Signo white gel pen. I drew white and black lines coming from my fireworks for effect using my Signo white pen and my Graphik black pen.
