Pick up the pen, put it on the paper

My lyric this week is ‘Pick up the pen, put it on the paper’ from the song ‘Write on me’ by Fifth harmonyBook2

For my background I used a purple dylusions spray with some white dylusions spray to lighten up the color. I used a promarker to draw a wavy border around the edges once the background had dried. I then used art deco glitter paste through a Tim Holtz letter stencil over all of the background. Once my glitter paste had dried I used a butterfly stamp, a mandala stamp and writing stamp from my art C stamp set and a leaf stamp from my recollections stamp set using them with black archival ink over all of the background

For my main page I drew out six scrolls on watercolor card. I then used lots of different colors from my aqua spectrum watercolor pens to color them individually, heating them with my heat gun to create the dried effect. I then cut them out and outlined them in graphix black pen. Then I used a script stamp with my black archival ink pad on each of them, making them look like a writing scroll. I then drew out three books on another piece of watercolor paper and colored them with similar colors to go with the three scrolls that I chose for that page, using the aqua spectrum watercolor pens. Once they had dried I outlined them with my graphix black pen and stamped the covers on them, using a butterfly, star and dot star stamp for the covers. I also added some metallic dots with my American crafts metallic pens around the book pages and the scrolls. I then glued them onto the scrolls and positioned the scrolls on the page.

For my quote page I used the remaining three scroll pages to position the quote on. I got another piece of watercolor paper and colored it with orange watercolor using my aqua spectrum watercolors. I then stamped on the quote with my dovecraft letter stamps and cut out the words individually. I bordered them with the edge of my archival ink pad and positioned them over all three scrolls.

As a finishing touch I used my butterfly paper cutter to cut out butterflies from scrapbook paper and drew metallic dots on the with my American Crafts metallic pens and then positioned them all over both of the pages and chose four butterfly sticker embellishments to position over my scrolls.
