You dance on a tightrope of weird

My quote for this week is ‘You dance on a tightrope of weird’ from the song ‘Crazy=genius’ by Panic! at the disco.

For my background I drew a thick black straight line in the middle of both pages with a black promarker so that it looked like a tightrope. I then used a ranger pink ink spray with to color the top of the tightrope, applying the ink spray with my paintbrush and then used a purple dylusions for the bottom of the tightrope, also applying it with a paintbrush. I then used white modelling paste through a dylusions diamond stencil on both pages above and below the tightrope. I then used a swirl stamp from my ArtC stamp set at the top of the tightrope and another different swirl stamp from the same ArtC stamp set for the bottom half of the page, and then used my star ArtC stamp all over the page using black archival ink.

For my main page I drew out six shoes on watercolor paper. I then cut out the shoes and drew different designs on them with my graphix black pen. I then colored them in all different colors with my aqua spectrum watercolor pens, drying the watercolor with my heat gun as I went so that it created a dried effect. I then used my glitter signo gel pens and sequins to decorate the shoes, coloring in the patterns and positioning the sequins on different parts of the shoes. Once the shoes were done I used signo metallic gel pens on the black tightrope in the middle to draw swirls and used sequins in the spaces between the swirls.

For my quote page I cut out a piece of watercolor paper and colored it orange with aqua spectrum watercolor orange pens using my heat gun to dry it for the same dried effect. I then stamped down the quote with my dovecraft letters using black archival ink and then cut out the words separately, positioning some of the words at the top of the tightrope and some below. I then outlined the words with my black graphix pen.

As a finishing touch I positioned butterfly embellishments over parts of the pages and took a piece of watercolor paper, sprayed it in purple ranger ink spray and purple dylusions ink spray and then stamped over it with a script stamp using archival black ink and then cut out butterflies out using my butterfly paper cutter, filling the blank spaces with the butterflies.
