Just wanna make the world dance

My quote for this week was ‘We just wanna make the world dance’ from the song ‘Price tag’ by Jessie J Ft. B.o.B.

For my background I used a black Windsor and newton acrylic paint. Once the paint had dried I used liquitex white modelling paste through a flower stencil. In the spaces between the flowers I stamped down images of the earth and Saturn using stamps from a wooden universe stamp set from Muji, I used a silver craft ink pad to stamp the images down.

For my main page I drew the earth and eight corners of a planet but only used four for my main page. I drew them out on watercolor paper and then colored them all individually using my aqua spectrum watercolor pens, coloring the corner planets in four colors so that they each had a pair of colors that matched. I made sure to dry the water as it was added to the paper with my heat gun for a special effect. Once the watercolor dried I used my graphix black pen to draw the islands on the planets. I then stamped music over the main earth that I made, using the American crafts music clear stamp with archival black ink. I used a stamp from my viva decor seaside clear stamp set on the corner planets, stamping it down over the planets with the black archival ink. I then glued the earth in the middle of my page and chose four of the corner planets to put at the corner of my page, and outlined everything with my black promarker.

For my quote page I used the remaining four corners of the planets around the corners of my page, matching the colors from the previous page, making sure that they were in the same position. I then used a manila tag for the background of my quote. I sprayed it with blue dylusions ink and a grey imagine crafts fireworks spray to add sparkle, I then used the Saturn stamp I had used for the background on the tag but used the black archival ink to stamp down the image instead of the silver. I then got a separate piece of watercolor paper and used purple ranger ink spray and pink imagine crafts fireworks spray on the piece of paper. Once that had dried I stamped on my quote with my dovecraft letter stamps using black archival ink and cut out the words individually. I used the corner of my black archival ink pad around the words to border them in black and then stuck them down on the backing. I then bordered the manila tag with my promarker and all of the corner planets.

As a finishing touch I sprayed a separate piece of watercolor paper with blue dylusions ink and grey imagine crafts fireworks spray, I then used the american craft music clear stamp to stamp over the paper with black archival ink and used my star paper cutter to cut out stars and place them all around both of my pages.
