My quote this week is ‘I’m like a shooting star, I’ve come so far’ from the Disney movie Aladdin from the song ‘A whole new world’.
For my background I mixed a pink cosmic shimmer paint with a blue decoart Americana acrylic paint, I covered the background in two coats. Once the paint had dried I used red viva decor glitter paste through a Tim Holtz star stencil over various parts of the background. Once the glitter paste had dried I used four different art-C clear stamps, I used a star, a butterfly, flowers and a pattern stamp, stamping the images down with black archival ink.
For my main page I drew a shooting star on a piece of watercolor paper. I then colored the shooting star with aqua spectrum watercolor pens, using different pinks and purples, I added water to the ink as I dried it with my heat gun to create a dried effect. Once that had dried, I outlined it in my black graphix pen and stamped over the image with my Art-C star and swirl stamp, using black archival ink. I also coated the star in a layer of glitter gel. To make the shooting star glimmer I used sticky pink gems that I got from the pound store over all of the star.
For my quote page I cut out a square and cut off the edges using a piece of watercolor paper, I also drew four stars on a piece of watercolor paper. I then colored in the stars and the quote backing in aqua spectrum watercolor pens, I used mainly pinks and purples and for the quote backing I used a purple. I added water to the ink as I dried it with my heat gun like I did with my shooting star, to create a dried effect. Once the water had dried I outlined the stars and the quote backing with my black graphix pen. I used my Art-C star stamp over the stars and my Art-C flower stamp over my quote backing, stamping the images down with black archival ink and coating the star and backing with glitter gel. For my actual quote I colored a piece of watercolor paper in a pink Tiger Alcohol marker, I then stamped on my quote with my dovecraft stamps using black archival ink and then cut the words out separately and stuck them onto my backing. I then outlined the words individually with my black graphix pen.
As a finishing touch I colored a piece of watercolor paper in various Tiger alcohol marker colors and then stamped over it with an Art-C pattern stamp once again using black archival ink, I then cut stars out of the patterned paper I made with my star paper cutter and put them around the page. I also added butterfly embellishments and a few silver sticky gems.
