Your rainbow will come smiling through

My quote for this week is ‘Your rainbow will come smiling through’ from the song ‘A dream is a wish your heart makes’ from Cinderella

Rainbow3

Firstly for my background I used pebeo studio acrylics white modelling paste through a Tim Holtz star stencil, once that had dried I used seven different colors of liquitex acrylic paint over the modelling paste. I used the seven rainbow colors; red, orange, yellow, green, light blue, dark blue and purple. I painted the colors on in stripes at a slant down the page in the order of the rainbow. Once the paint had dried I used my Art-C butterfly stamp, my recollections sun and leaf stamp and my molly and rex butterfly stamp with black archival ink over parts of the background, as a finishing touch to my background I went over the background with Decoart gold glitter paint to give it a sparkle.

For my main page I drew a sun and a rainbow with a cloud on a piece of watercolor paper. I colored them with my aqua spectrum watercolor pens, I used oranges and yellows for the sun and the colors of the rainbow for my rainbow and cloud. I added water to the sun and rainbow with my pentel Aquash water brush as I dried it with my heat gun to make the water move so that it blended and created the dried effect. I then used a butterfly stamp and my Art-C butterfly stamp with my black archival ink over my rainbow and used a butterfly stamp and my recollections sun stamp with black archival ink over my sun. I then outlined them with my black promarker and stuck them onto the page with glue.

Rainbow2

For my quote page I drew two clouds. I drew the clouds onto watercolor paper and colored them with my aqua spectrum watercolor pens, in all the different colors of the rainbow. I blended them by drying them with my heat gun as I added water again so that the colors blended together and once the watercolor had dried I outlined it with my graphix black pen and drew some swirls coming out of the sides. I then stamped one of the clouds with my Art-C butterfly stamp and my other with my molly and rex butterfly stamp, stamping the images down with my black archival ink. For the background of my quote I cut out a piece of watercolor paper and cut off the edges, I once again colored it with aqua spectrum watercolor pens, using the colors of the rainbow and blending the colors with the water and heat gun. Once that had dried I used a maple leaf stamp over it with black archival ink and outlined it with my black promarker. For the quote I cut out a piece of watercolor paper and colored it with my spectrum noir pink alcohol marker and then stamped the quote over it with my dovecraft letters using black archival ink. I cut the words out individually and glued them onto the background and then outlined the words with my graphix black pen.

As a finishing touch I cut out a piece of watercolor paper and used a mixture of spectrum noir, pro markers and tiger alcohol markers to draw the rainbow colors, I then covered it with glitter I bought from Tiger and cut out stars using my star paper cutter, I glued the stars down and then drew small metallic dots on them with my American crafts metallic pens. I also added three butterflies to my main page and used pound store pink gems all over both pages to add sparkle.
