Glitter’s raining on me

My quote for this week is ‘Glitters raining on me’ from the song ‘Domino’ by Jessie J

For the background on both of my pages I mixed black and white liquitex paint to create a grey color and blended it onto the background with a dark blue color. Once the paint had dried I used deco art glitter paint to paint over the background to make it sparkle and glitter. I mixed white modelling paste with the deco art glitter paint to add glitter to the modelling paste and make it a darker color, and then used it through a dylusions star stencil and a cloud paper stencil to add texture. To add additional texture I used a inkadinkado butterfly stamp with archival black ink and stamped it over the background once the modelling paste had dried, with some of the image being stamped onto the clouds and stars. I then used a Tim Holtz star stamp and a star border stamp with archival black ink over some parts of the background and then finally used my metallic silver crystal craft ink pad with a script stamp and stamped it all over the background.

For my main page I drew clouds first to go at the top of my page onto watercolor paper. I drew some clouds using my black pen and used my aqua spectrum watercolor pens to color them in different blue colors, I dried the watercolor with my heating tool as I put water onto them and created a dried water effect around the sides. Once It had dried I used Tim Holtz stamps with my archival ink all over the clouds. Once the ink had dried I painted over it with deco art glitter paint to give it the sparkle. Afterwards I drew lots of different raindrops with my black pen onto watercolor paper. I then used my aqua spectrum watercolor pens in only blues and blended them together to create all different raindrops with different colors. I then stamped over them with Tim Holtz stars as I did with the clouds and painted over them with deco art glitter paint. Once I had stuck them down I used my white signo gel pen to outline the images to help them stand out.

For my quote page I made additional clouds to be a continuation of them on my main page, I did them exactly the same way I did my first ones, using a darker blue for the middle and lighter blues for the sides. For my quote I cut out watercolor paper and used two pink colors from my aqua spectrum watercolor pens, blending them together and painting over the background of the quote with art deco glitter paint once it had dried. I used a separate piece of watercolor paper for the actual quote, painting it in blue watercolor and using the glitter again to paint over it once it had dried. I then used my dovecraft stamp letters with archival ink to stamp down the quote and cut the words out individually. I glued the quote onto the background and used my signo white gel pen to create borders to the words to make them stand out. I then used archival ink with my Tim Holtz star stamp to stamp all around the quote. I decided to make the raindrops on this page all bright colors to contrast against the all blue raindrops on the previous page. I made raindrops again but used my pink, purple and orange aqua spectrum watercolor pens instead, blending the different colors together. I stamped over them with my Tim Holtz star stamp and painted over them with my deco art glitter paint, and again outlined them with my signo white gel pen.

For the finishing touches I drew lots of different raindrops with my signo white gel pen all around the pages. I also used blue paint with lots of water and a paintbrush to splatter the paint over both pages.
