My quote this week was ‘High off my American dream’ from the song ‘American teen’ by ‘Khalid’
Firstly I painted the background dark blue with liquitex dark blue paint. I then used silver viva decor glitter paste through a dylusions star stencil all over both sides of the background. I then used a dreamcatcher stamp from a recollections stamp set and two different feather stamps from a viva decor stamp set, using archival black ink to stamp the images over the glitter paste on my background to create texture.
For my main picture I drew two different dreamcatchers on a piece of watercolor paper. I colored in the dreamcatchers with uni-ball signo glitter pens. I then outlined the patterns I made in a black pen and used my signo white gel pen and American craft metallic pens to add small dots to the dream catchers. I then drew six small feathers on watercolor paper and coloured them with uni-ball signo metallic pens, adding dots to them with my white signo gel pen and positioning them around the dreamcatchers. Once they had been stuck down I used my white signo gel pen to outline everything on the page.
For my quote page I cut out a piece of watercolor paper and cut the edges off of it. I then colored it with my blue aqua spectrum watercolor pens. I then used my viva decor glitter paste through a Tim Holtz diamond stencil and then used the feather stamp from the viva decor stamp set over the glitter paste once the glitter paste had dried. I then colored another piece of watercolor paper in purple and blue using aqua spectrum watercolor pens. I then stamped my quote onto that paper using my dovecraft letter stamps with archival ink. I then cut out the words individually and stuck them on top of the quote backing. I then drew another dreamcatcher like I did on the other side of the page, but with different patterns and stuck it down next to the quote. I also made another six feathers, doing exactly what I did on the opposite page with them but positioning them around the quote instead. I then outlined everything in white signo gel pen.
As a finishing touch I colored a piece of watercolor paper with aqua spectrum watercolor pens and used the stamp Collage of rounds from Carabelle Studios over it once it had dried, stamping it down with black archival ink. I then cut out the butterflies using my butterfly paper cutter and spread them around the page.
