Me and my guitar tonight

For this weeks quote I chose ‘Me and my guitar tonight’ from the song ‘liquor store blues’ by Bruno Mars

Guitar2

I used a dark blue glitter tissue paper for the base of my background and used viva decor silver glitter paste through a Tim Holtz diamond stencil over parts of my background to add texture. I decided to not use stamps for my background as I was adding sequins after I had drawn my main page pieces.

Guitar 3

For my main page I drew a guitar as the main centerpiece of my page. I cut out a piece of watercolor paper and drew the guitar with my graphix black pen. I then colored in the middle of my guitar and the handle of my guitar with uni-ball signo glitter pens and around the sides with uni-ball signo metallic pens. I then drew the guitar lines with my black graphix pen and drew dots everywhere with my signo white gel pen and added a few metallic dots with my American crafts metallic pens. I then drew out eight guitar picks and used my aqua spectrum watercolor pens in different colors to color them. Once they had dried I used my viva decor glitter paste through a dylusions star stencil on all the guitar picks. Once the glitter paste had dried I stamped a music stamp over the modelling paste, using archival black ink. I then positioned four of them around the guitar and left the other four for my other page. I  then glued sequins around the page in all the remaining space and added two small black butterfly embellishments to the guitar and two pink butterfly embellishments on the side of the page.

Guitar4

For my quote page I drew another guitar. I painted it in blue and silver glitter paint. I then mixed pink paint with modelling paste and used it through a Tim Holtz diamond stencil on the whole of the guitar. Once it had dried I used my music stamp with my archival black ink over the dried modelling paste. I then used a black promarker to color the handle of the guitar and outline the guitar base. I then used my signo white gel pen to highlight the guitar on the page and draw the strings and a few dots. I then cut out a piece of watercolor paper and colored it with my aqua spectrum watercolor pens, using pink and red colors. Once I had dried it with my heat gun I stamped down the quote with my dovecraft letter stamps and used a glitter sticker for the first letter of the quote. I then cut out the words individually and used the side of my archival black ink pad on the edges of my quote to give them a black border. I then stuck down the guitar and placed the four remaining guitar picks around the guitar and covered all of the remaining space in sequins, and then I added two butterfly embellishments to the side of my quote on my guitar.

As a finishing touch I colored a piece of watercolor paper in my paperchase glitter pens and stamped over it with my music stamp using black archival ink and then I used my butterfly paper cutter to cut out butterfly shapes and stick them around my page and I also added some pink and blue gems to my guitar picks.
