My quote this week is ‘Singing to the city lights’ from the song ‘Liquor store blues’ by Bruno Mars ft. Damian Marley
For the background I applied blue dylusions ink with a pentel aquash waterbrush pen. Once the dylusions ink had dried I added drops of water and dried it with my heat gun for a special effect. I then mixed white modelling paste with blue glitter and then used it through a dylusions star stencil over all of the background. Once the modelling paste had dried, I used two leaf stamps on the background and a butterfly stamp and star stamp from my Art C stamp set, stamping the images down onto the background with my black archival ink.
For my main page I drew four lamp posts. Firstly I drew them on watercolor paper and then I colored them with my fireworks and dylusions spray, using the ink from the bottles and applying it with my pentel aquash waterbrush pen. I then used my American crafts music stamp over the lamp posts, stamping it down with black archival ink. I then outlined the lamp posts in my graphix black pen and stuck them on my page.
For the quote page I drew another four lamp posts. I used my dylusions and fireworks sprays just as I did with my main page lamp posts and applied the American crafts music stamp on the lamp posts with my black archival ink as well. For my quote backing I cut the edges off a manila tag and sprayed it with a purple ranger spray. I then mixed white modelling paste with purple glitter and used it through a dragonfly stencil on the manila tag. Once that had dried I went over it with my American crafts music stamp with black archival ink and outlined the tag with my pro marker. For my quote I sprayed a piece of watercolor paper with orange and red fireworks sprays and then stamped down my quote with my dovecraft letters using black archival ink. I then cut out the words individually and put them on the tag, outlining each word with graphix black pen.
As a finishing touch I got another piece of watercolor paper and colored it with liquitex paint markers, using blue, orange and pink. I then stamped over it with my music stamp using black archival ink and used my star paper cutter to cut out stars which I placed around the lampposts. I then outlined all the stars with my graphix black pen.
