My quote this week is ‘I just can’t wait to be king’ from the Disney movie The Lion King
For my background I used a orange dylusions spray and a yellow and orange imagine crafts fireworks spray, I sprayed the ink everywhere on the page and then sprayed over it again with water to make it spread on the page and mix the colors together. Once the ink had dried I put pebeo studio acrylics modelling paste through a recollections triangle stencil. When the modelling paste dried it turned a lighter color of my background. I then used two different pattern stamps from my Art-C stamp set and a crown stamp, applying it to the background with black archival ink.
For my main page I drew a crown and six Jewels all on watercolor paper, I then cut them out and colored them with my aqua spectrum watercolor pens. I did three jewels blue, three jewels pink and the crown orange, I added water to the watercolor with a Pentel Aquash Water brush and dried it as it hit the paper with my heat gun to blend the different colors I used on the Jewels and for the dried effect. Once the watercolor had dried I decorated the jewels with dots using my American crafts metallic pens. For the crown I used my crown stamp with black archival ink all over it and then used pound store jewels to decorate the bottom and top of the crown. I then used my black promarker to outline everything.
For my quote page I drew two king specters on watercolor paper. I then cut them out and colored one with pinks and one with blues, using my aqua spectrum watercolors, adding the water and drying it the same way as I did with my first page. Once the watercolor dried I used my American crafts metallic pens to decorate it with shiny dots and then outlined both of the specters with my black promarker. I then cut out a piece of square watercolor paper and cut the edges off. I then sprayed it with ranger purple ink spray and a Mr Huey red ink spray, adding water to blend the colors. Once the ink had dried I used an Art-C pattern stamp all over it, stamping it down with black archival ink. For the actual quote I got a separate piece of paper and sprayed it once again with ranger purple ink spray and yellow dylusions spray. I stamped down the quote with my dovecraft letters using black archival ink and cut out the words separately, sticking them down onto the quote backing. I then outlined the words and the quote backing with my black promarker.
As a finishing touch I colored a piece of watercolor paper in paperchase glitter pens, I used Silver, red, orange and blue, I waited for the glitter to dry and then stamped over it with a flower stamp using black archival ink. Then using my star paper cutter, I cut tout stars and put them over both of my pages, adding metallic dots to them with my American crafts metallic pens. I also added three sticker butterflies to my quote and two sticker butterflies to my crown which I purchased from the pound store.
